Hello there!
A few years ago, I was absolutely adamant that I would, under no circumstances whatsoever, even contemplate starting a blog. Blogs, I proclaimed self-righteously, were for struggling writers who had no other platform to air their grievances and who decided, in a desperate bid to be heard, to send their writings and musings out to cyberspace in order to burden unsuspecting web geeks with their (usually highly unarticulated) innermost thoughts.
If the blogs I’d stumbled across accidentally while surfing the net weren’t filled with ill-informed people making ridiculous claims, they were home to people blogging about excruciatingly mundane things like what they had for breakfast. I had yoghurt for breakfast today; just in case that was the type of blog you were after. It was peach, passion and goji. I don’t actually know what a goji is, but the yoghurt tasted really good, so it must be edible.
But here I am, the ultimate hypocrite, posting my very first blog. I’m under the illusion that this will be a space that I can keep you up to date with the latest Satellite goss, from the behind-the-scenes dramas to the hot scoops that may or may not grace my desk.
I hope that you’ll join me as I natter on about the incredulous, the inane and the just insane through my “official” Satellite Blog. I feel that it needs a catchier name (like “orbit” or something suitably space themed) so if you have any suggestions, flick them to me at satellite@asa.ac.nz.
