Right, back to work for another year! 2008 looks set to be a big year, with Orientation starting things off with a BANG!!! Checkout the lineup of day and night events and activities in your 2008 Gig Guide. 2008 is going to be bigger and better, with gigs such as Katchafire and Concord Dawn on the horizon! With a slick new branding, this year’s Orientation has a Pirate theme, lending itself nicely to plenty of shenanigans for O-Week.
3 Simple Steps to Uni Life is as follows….
1/ Most Important Factor… grab yourself a GIG GUIDE and get yourself in the know! If you haven’t already got one, this explains what’s on, where & when. Crucial O-Week info!! Don’t be afraid to ask one of the friendly ASA Exec’s or Volunteers (identifiable by their T-shirts). Just head to the ASA Tent (where the FREE sausage sizzle is running all week), or the ASA Office in the Atrium Building.
2/ Get INVOLVED with Events and Activities… People often fuss and curse about not having enough fun at Uni – if you get involved there is a lotta fun to be had! Social life at Uni is as much as YOU make it as well. Start with the student mingle on Monday Night at Evo… There are a variety of events and activities to choose from! There’s something for everyone!
3/ Uni life is all about BALANCE. Balance of studying, partying, good health and exercise all play an important part of being a Uni Student! We here at the ASA can help in all areas. Our services include Advocacy Support, events like Orientation, Winter Orientation and the Ball, the Rec Centre, Health and Counseling, Uni Games and various Clubs and Societies. These will all help you achieve your lifestyle balance.
So what are you waiting for!!! Get in there!!
And if you are wondering, is that it..?? Well it’s just the start, there’s a whole lot more in store for this year’s calendar, including Live Bands and performances, artistic shows, competitions, activities. Everything to keep a student super busy right here available at the ASA!
I think I just might have covered the basics…Keep your eyes and ears open out for information during O-Week, there’s loads of things to do and get involved in… Most importantly, make the BEST of out it all while you can!!
Catch you right through O-Week!
Cheers,
Reuben (Social Rep)
