Basketball

The Massey University Basketball team are now half-way through the Inter-Tertiary Basketball league.  The competition is played once a month between Massey Albany, AUT, Auckland University, and Unitec once at each university.  We have a very talented team of guys who have had a couple of very very close games!  Their first game lost by only 5 points and their second lost by just 1!!  Their next game is Friday 3rd October 3pm at Auckland Uni.  The final game will be played here at Massey on Friday 7th November.
Blues

The awards evening is coming up on the 6th October.  This is a formal evening where we celebrate the achievements of some of our students over some top notch food and wine.  Did you know some of our students have been to the Olympics this year?  Many Massey students have been competing at National and International events in sports ranging from swimming to skiing.  Come along to meet them and hear the story of one of NZ’s top athletes.  Everyone is welcome to attend; tickets are available from Massey Contact.

Indoor rowing Competition!

FREE ENTRY and lots of prizes.  Wednesday 8 October, in the Recreation Centre, Sports Hall.  Register by e-mailing a.adamson@massey.ac.nz or texting 021 832 625.  Enter the 2000m Relay; 100m sprints or the full 2000m race.  Times to beat for the 2000m race are 6.52 in the men and 8.32 for women.  If you’ve never given rowing ago this is a great way for you to try it out and have some fun!

Prize Giving

The end of the year is coming soon!  Prize giving for all those involved in Clubs, Sports and Events on campus will be held at Evolution (Evo) Bar on the 17th October.  Prizes for those who have made a contribution, entertained us, helped us, won, lost and tried.  So if you’ve been involved in Orientation, clubs, Uni Games, Snow Games, Evo, ASA, Indoor Soccer, Netball, Basketball, Tertiary Challenge; come along and celebrate the end of another awesome year!!
