Lisa Haakma Vice Presidents Column Issue 15

I’m pretty sure this year was shorter than the rest!! It seems to have gone so quickly and personally I’m not complaining – the sooner the year ends the sooner I am on the Gold Coast!! Bring it on!! Seeing as this is the last issue of Satellite for the year (and therefore my last column), I thought it would be nice to thank some people. This may get boring but hey, it has to be done.

First, thanks to everyone that voted in the ASA elections! Hopefully the people you voted into office will represent you well next year (sorry to those that didn’t make it, but thanks for running!)

Secondly, thanks to all the ASA staff for their hard work, for bringing you orientations, class reps, Uni./snow games, clubs, this wonderful publication, awesome parties, and everything else that my goldfish memory has forgotten. I would like to thank the ASA exec, they piss me off at times but for the most part they are all gravy.

I would also like to thank everyone else that has had to put up with me – Deldel, Kiss, Dan, Dave, Leon, Mum, Dad. I don’t wanna turn this into an Oscars speech so I think those are the only thank you’s I will do. They are serious thank you’s though and I really do appreciate everyone that I’ve worked with this year (whether it be serious work or working on having fun). I hope you all have had a good year too and

I hope that the fun and good times continue!! If you are new to Massey then I recommend (now that you have had a year to get yourself sorted and figure out how Uni. life works) that you get out there, get amongst it and make the most of everything that is offered at Massey! The staff at ASA are always trying to bring exciting things into your lives to balance out the bring stuff so get into it!

Ok, as I read over this I have realised how cliché I sound so I am going to stop now. But before I do I wanna, once again, say THANKS to everyone who thinks they deserve a thank you from me. I’m hungry so I am going to get some lunch. See you round hopefully!

Good luck with exams!
