President’s Column (Issue 6)

It’s been a busy time again for us all. These past few weeks, I’ve been to a fair amount of meetings. I was down at the Palmerston North Campus where the Universities HQ is based and met with a few of the big-wigs about academic issues. I also met the Massey Presidents and Student Reps on Council. We are currently looking at expanding papers on this campus and improving student engagement.

A Bunch of ARSE’s

I met up with all of the Auckland President’s from each of the other Unis and Polytechnics and we were thinking of renaming our organisation. We got a little bit stuck at Auckland Regional Students Executives, but the acronym for that is ARSE and we don’t want to be seen as a bunch of ARSE’s, so we have dismissed that. I was wondering if any of you could think up a name that would fairly represent all students studying in Auckland. What this committee seeks to do is to have a voice for all Tertiary Students in the greater Auckland Region.

Possible change in Masters Degrees…
