Towards the end of last year, my friend and I embarked on a trip to Asia. During our numerous adventures, we spent a week in Beijing, China, much to my delight. It was brilliant being able to do all the touristy things, like climbing the Great Wall of China in -7 degree temperatures; visiting the Silk Markets to bargain with merchants and to just generally enjoy the hospitality of one of the most bustling cities in the world. However, the moment that has had the most impact on me during our stay was visiting (and standing in) Tiananmen Square.
