Despite the reputation comic books in general often carry, they can be serious pieces of literature that offer insight into people, culture, and the time in which we live. This brings me to the suspiciously pertinent V for Vendetta. It’s popular, widely known and accessible to most people – you’ve probably already seen the movie, so it’s a good book with which to start your comic reading career with.
